Our motto is “We Serve” and Lions are part of a global service network. Here at Uttoxeter Lions, we are a group of committed and dedicated volunteers who offer help and support to individuals, families, charities and community organisations within the wider Uttoxeter area.

If you are looking for support (financial or through us offering an extra pair of hands to help you), please complete the Support Request Form and email it to supportrequest@uttoxeterlions.co.uk. Our Welfare Committee will then consider your request. Please also see our Privacy Policy

Uttoxeter Lions Club Privacy Notice

Uttoxeter Lions Club hold personal data about you. This notice explains how and why your personal data will be used and how long it will be retained for. It provides you with certain information that must be provided by us under the General Data Protection Regulations ((EU) 2016/679) (GDPR).

Data Protection principles.

We will comply with data protection law and principles which means that your data will be:

  • collected only for the purposes explained in this document and not used in any way that is incompatible with those purposes.

The information we collect and when

The type of information that we will collect on you, and you voluntarily provide to us on this website includes your name and address, telephone number(s), email address, records of conversations, agreements, donation transactions and the reason you contacted us.

You are under no statutory or contractual requirement or obligation to provide us with your personal information but we really do need at least the information above to deal with you in an efficient and effective manner.

How we use your information

  • To contact you after your enquiry, reply to any questions, suggestions, issues or complaints you have contacted us about;
  • Take payment from you or give you a refund;
  • To power our security measures and services so you can safely access our website and mobile apps;
  • To answer your questions and solve any issues you have.

Who we might share your information with

We may share your personal data with other organisations to deal with your enquiry or if the law or a public authority says we must it or if we need to share it in order to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights which includes providing personal data to others for the purposes of preventing fraud and reducing credit risk.

How long we keep your information for

We retain a record of your personal information in order to provide you with the best possible service. We will always retain your personal information in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and never keep it for longer than is necessary. Unless otherwise required by law, your data will be stored for a period of 5 years after our last contact with you and it will then be deleted.

Right to Access your Personal Information

This is commonly known as a “data subject access request”.  It allows you to obtain a copy of personal data we are holding about you.  If we agree that we are obliged to provide personal information to you (or someone else on your behalf), we will provide it to you or them free of charge within 30 days from when your identity has been confirmed. Proof of identity and sufficient information about your contact with us will be requested so that we can locate your personal information.

Right to Correct your Personal Information

You can require inaccurate personal data to be corrected and any incomplete personal data to be completed

Right to Object or Stop or Limit our processing of your dat

You have the right to object to us processing your personal information if we are no longer entitled to use it. You can require us to delete or remove personal data which is no longer necessary in relation to the purposes for which they were collected or otherwise processed or where the processing is unlawful or where you are exercising your right to object. You can require us to stop processing for a period while we verify the accuracy of personal data which you contest or where the processing is unlawful or where we no longer need the personal data for the purposes for which it was provided.

Right to complain

You can you complain to the Information Commissioners Office, the UK Supervisory Authority for Data Protection Issues (www.ico.org.uk) However, we would ask you to raise any issue or complaint you have with us first and we will always do our best to resolve the matter.
